Hello, my name is Dandy (yep that’s my real name).  I write The Reflective Self.  My readers can expect to read a variety of articles on the topics of self-improvement, positivity, and living a healthier life, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  The purpose of this blog is to encourage mindfulness, self-awareness, and intentional living.  The ultimate goal is to help you live a happier, more meaningful life.  By no means do I consider myself an expert on self-improvement.  I am a student, constantly seeking ways to improve myself and my life.  I have a B.A. in English Literature.  I love the written word and all the power behind it – the power to inspire, provoke, motivate, and encourage.  I love the aspect of blog writing.  We all have a unique voice.  That is what attracted me to writing my own blog.  I feel I can help others with my uniqueness.  I have been a reader of self-help books for 20 years.  Some haven’t helped me a bit and others have completely changed my life, and the way I view myself.  I hope to put what I have learned to use for you. I know there are numerous blogs out there that focus on self-improvement and self-development.  It is a huge genre. Some of these blogs are phenomenal, informative, and well written.  However, I have noticed gaps in this huge genre that aren’t focused on.  My goal is to fill in the gaps.  But most importantly, the goal of  The Reflective Self is to create a community of like-minded people.  I want to do that by strongly encouraging readership participation and input.  I want to learn from you – the reader.  I want to know what articles would you like to read on The Reflective Self.  What books have you found helpful?  What advice were you given that motivated you forward?  What are your ideas for living a healthier life?  What are your issues, struggles, concerns?  What do you want to read, hear, and know about?  Assign me a topic!
